Pomodoro

The very best tomato for cooking is the San Marzano plum tomato whether canned or fresh. The large canning factories in Campania produce the best quality. Canned tomatoes are available whole, crushed, chopped, pureed or in concentrated form in tubes. Used both raw and cooked it's uses are endless. In sauces for pasta, polenta, gnocchi, in rice dishes, salads, stuffed or cooked with other vegetables.
